FIRST® Philosophy

The EngiNERDs believe that passing on knowledge and skills that we have gained through participation in the FIRST® Robotics Program helps everyone. For generations, veteran Teams have been lending resources to others in the FIRST Community.
"Paying" this FIRST Philosophy forward   encourages growth and inspires people to do great things.

Robot Boot Camp

Robot Boot camp is an annual crash-course training session offered to local area Teams by the EngiNERDs. Students on Team 2337 participate in, as well as teach at tables that explain more than 25 different areas of FIRST. Subjects include brainstorming, mechanical and electrical tools, scouting, teamwork, milling, welding, and much more.

More than 220 people from 18 Veteran and Rookie Teams attended, gaining valuable knowledge on coming up with and maintaining an effective game and robot strategy.

Rookie Conference Calls

In conjunction with FIRST Team 27, RUSH from Clarkston, the EngiNERDs host weekly conference calls to assist Rookie Teams. The calls help new teams come away with knowledge of FIRST to assist them in functioning like Veteran teams before their season even starts.
