This year, the FLL competition is Food Factor. Students in Elementary and Middle Schools build a robot out of legos and program it with a NXT Mindstorm technology. The students must also research food safety and other food related problems. Then, after doing some research, they must come up with an innovative solution for this problem. This is the EngiNERDs' fourth year volunteering at local FIRST Lego League Competitions. They have volunteered at Lego Fever I and Lego Fever II both at Carman-Ainsworth Middle School in Flint, Michigan. They have also volunteered at the Michigan State Championship in Flint, Michigan. Students and Mentors have volunteered as referees, judges, and runners.
