SCRIP Frequently Asked Questions
Q: What Is SCRIP?
A: SCRIP is a term which means "Substitute Money". When you participate in the SCRIP Program, you purchase gift cards that are used as cash.
Q: What can I purchase through SCRIP?
A: Gift cards and certificates to hundreds of local and national retailers. Use SCRIP Cards like cash to purchase gifts for others, or every-day expenses such as groceries, gas, and restaurant meals.
Q: Why would I want to participate in the SCRIP Program?
A: Because a percentage of each SCRIP purchase goes directly into your student/family account for the Robotics Team, which reduces your Team Fees! SCRIP profits are deducted from your student accounts on a monthly basis.
Q: But if a percentage goes into my account, is the gift card less valuable?
A: No. For example, if you order a $25.00 gift card to ACE Hardware, you receive a $25.00 gift card. In addition, 10% ($2.50) is deposited into your student/family account.
Q: How do I place an order for SCRIP?
A: Print out the SCRIP Order form from above, indicate the quantity as desired, and place it in an envelope, with your payment (CHECKS ONLY, made payable to GB SCRIP), and send it to a meeting for Brandi. If a vendor you desire is not listed, check out the list of All SCRIP Vendors, and indicate these orders on the back side of your order form.

A: Check out the Parent Calendar for order collection and pick-up dates. Please note that orders will be returned in a sealed envelope, so if you're ordering for your student, they'll never know. Plus, you have the piece of mind knowing whether or not the order has been opened.
