2015 Dean's List Nominees
William Garland
William was selected as one of the 2015 Dean's List Nominees. William is a student that focuses his attention on the details of Scouting. Scouting is the important task of gathering information during each of the matches during a Robotics Competition. William distributes Scouting sheets to his fellow teammates who document the necessary information that is then compiled into a data base. This information is then used to discuss the other Teams that would be great to have on our Alliance so we are prepared to make an educated decision during Alliance Selections. William is an integral member of the Team. |
Michael Olmstead
Michael was selected as one of the 2015 Dean's List Nominees. Michael is the Head Section Leader for the two sections: Operator Interface and Communications. The Head Section Leader for Operator Interface is in charge of designing and building the mechanism that the Driver and Operator use to drive and operate the Robot. Michael designed and built this mechanism with special material that reduced the weight without compromising the performance. The mechanism is affectionately called the "Bagel Box" that contains 12 buttons, joystick and a laptop. This is how the Robot is able to drive, preform and operate so it is a critical component to the success of the Team. |
2014 Dean's List Nominees
Silas Brumwell
Silas was selected as one of the 2014 Dean's List Nominees. Silas is a person who has contributed to Team 2337 by taking a Leadership role as the Head Programming Section Leader. Programming is his passion. He assisted other FIRST Teams with their Programming issues plus contributed to the Programming Blog, Brogramers. Silas revealed his creative side by being chosen to be part of the Chairman's Team and being a Chairman's Presenter. Ben Kent-Bryant
Ben was selected as one of the 2014 Dean's List Nominees. Ben is a person who has taken a leadership role regarding the Scouting Process by designing and engineering the new Scouting Sheets. These Scouting Sheets are utilized by the Students to gather pertinent match and Robot information. Ben would utilize this information to assist him in picking the Team's Alliance as the EngiNERDs Team Representative during the Competition's Team Selection. In addition to enjoying the Scouting Process, Ben is a Lead Machinist. |
2013 Dean's List Nominees |
Jordan Nickola Jordan was selected as one of the 2013 Dean's List Nominees since she has worked diligently to ensure the safety of her Teammates plus FIRST competition participants. She was selected as Safety Captain for the third consecutive year. Jordan serves as Team Captain. She was a major contributor to the Chairman's Team plus as one of the three presenters for the Chairman's Award. She volunteers to help with tasks that are outside her expertise and will often come early or stay late to ensure that they are completed. Stefan Carter Stefan was chosen for the 2013 Dean's List nomination because he has taken on multiple leadership roles. These leadership roles have impacted not only the success of Team 2337 but also taught others that inspiration, hard work and dedication can yield amazing results . His dedication has been unmatched plus he has worked diligently to spread the word of FIRST. Stefan has been committed to designing, machining and building the robot. In addition to working on the robot, he was a major contributor to the Chairman's Team and was one of the three Chairman's Award presenters. |
2012 Dean's List Nominees
Lauryn Watkoske
Lauryn was recognized as a Deans' List Nominee for her efforts as Chassis Student Section Leader. As a third-year student and two-year Section Leader on the Team, Lauryn personifies every aspect of the ethos of FIRST, and encourages her Teammates (both Students and Mentors alike) to learn new skills, always do their best, and treat each other fairly. Lauryn has shown a capacity to be sensitive to others, while promoting high-quality work and guiding her colleagues in a manner that never settles for less, but unwaveringly reflects Gracious Professionalism. |
Mike Hasselbach
Michael Hasselbach has been selected as a Dean's List Nominee for leading the way in quality work and innovative CAD methods. It is through his efforts as CAD Student Section Leader that designing parts and assemblies virtually prior to fabrication has become a production standard on Team 2337. He has assisted in creating successful, knowledgeable Team members and his dedication over the last two years has been outstanding. Mike has created a culture where CAD work is respected and desired, and has truly inspired his peers and has helped them recognize the value in doing CAD work as the forefront of production |
2011 Dean's List Nominees
Basel Alghanem
Basel was selected as a 2011 Dean's List Nominee because he personifies what it means to spread the word of FIRST. His main commitment to the Grand Blanc High School Robotics Team has been reaching out to his peers, as well as other members of the FIRST community, to show what FIRST is all about. On the Team, Basel has taken on every role from CAD work, to machining, awards submissions, photography, and beyond. He has never been hesitant to share his knowledge or ideas for improvement with his Mentors, and continuously strives to become more intimately involved in other aspects of the Team’s operation. |
Zach Orr
Zach was chosen as a Dean's List Nominee because he has been instrumental in the ensuring the sustainability of the Grand Blanc High School Robotics Team. He has been committed to developing new methods for continuous improvement, worked diligently to increase membership, and has lead the way in promoting the ideals of FIRST. Zach assists in every area of the team, from the robot build, to awards submissions, scouting, public relations, and student management. Zach’s knowledge of every area on the team allows him to move from sub-section to sub-section, assisting his peers in completing tasks, and sharing his knowledge with others. |
