Daycare Demonstration

All about Robots

As a preschool teacher at a local daycare, one of the Team's Head Mentors, Brandi, had the opportunity to teach kids all about robots. The students were asked questions about where robots live, what they eat, how they get energy, and what robots "do". Before the demonstration, children were asked to draw a picture of a robot.

Once the robot arrived, the kids were given a lesson in safety, and were asked to wear eye protection and pay close attention to their surroundings. Afterward, they got an opportunity to inspect a real robot, make observations about its "brain", "veins", "heart" and "bones".

Tiny TOts Tool Training

Kids at the Day Care were given the opportunity to get a little hands-on tool training. Members of The EngiNERDs brought several basic tools and build materials to the Robot demonstration and allowed the kids to pass them around and see their practical applications.
