EngiNERDs Win Kettering Kickoff XIII
For the second consecutive year, Team 2337 has come away from the Kettering Kickoff Competition "Top Dog" Award. Along with the assistance of Team 68 (Truck Town Thunder from Ortonville), and Team 910 (Foley Freeze from Madison Heights), the EngiNERDs were able to capture victory in eight well-played matches. |
The Admiral Presents GM Foundation Donation
"Admiral” the robot rolled up to Kettering University President Robert McMahan with a special delivery -- a $110,000 check from the General Motors (GM) Foundation – during the 13th annual Kettering Kickoff FIRST Robotics competition Sept. 22.
More than 800 people cheered as President McMahan snatched the $110,000 gift from the colorful robot that was hand built by students on Team 2337 at Grand Blanc High School. The $110,000 will be used by Kettering University to raise awareness of Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics (STEM) and business careers and help to recruit women and minority students. Heading Back to the Bricks!Team 2337 joinined the 8th annual Back to the Bricks festivities on Saturday, August 18 2012.
The EngiNERDs shot some hoops in the Central Lot at the corner of Kearsley and Harrison in Downtown Flint, where nearly 250,000 people had the chance to drive the Admiral or go head-to-head in a free-throw contest. Teams from Genesee County and surrounding areas demonstrated their 2012 FIRST Robotics Competition robots as part of the MMRA. |
Robots cruise the Sloan Auto Fair
As part of the Mid-Michigan Robotics Alliance demonstration, the EngiNERDs cruised the 2012 Sloan Auto Fair with a recreation of this years' FIRST Robotics Competition Game, Rebound Rumble! The Team's Robot, The Admiral, was driven by attendees of the Auto Fair on Sunday, and participated in robot "drag races" through the parking lot. The EngiNERDs have been taking part in the Sloan Auto Fair since 2010. |
