EngiNERDs head Back to the Bricks! The EngiNERDs participated in the Mid-Michigan Robotics Alliance's robot demonstration at Flint's Back to the Bricks celebration on Saturday, August 20th, 2011. Team 2337 encouraged passersby to take a try at driving their robot, and encouraged attendees of the event to attend the 12th annual Kettering Kickoff event, being held September 16 and 17 at Kettering University's Recreation Center. |
Team 2337 Meets Faith!
The EngiNERDs have been collecting pop tabs for a little girl named Faith since 2008, but have never had the pleasure of meeting this inspirational little girl and her amazing family. Faith's family lives in the St. Louis area, so it was very difficult for the Team to travel to see her.
Upon receiving the announcement that the 2011 FIRST World Championship would be held in St. Louis, the EngiNERDs immediately knew that they absolutely HAD to qualify so they could meet Faith. The Team made sure to make this happen!
The Team arranged to have Faith and her parents, Chuck and Kristie, travel to the Edward Jones Dome in St. Louis on the final day of the Championship, so we could meet. The Team presented Faith with 120 pounds worth of pop can tabs, and had a life-altering experience of meeting one of the most amazing little girls in the world!

2011 Ann Arbor District Chairman's Award WinnerAny FIRST Robotics team provides a more practical approach to engineering than a traditional high school classroom setting; however, FIRST Team 2337 not only builds robots, but also equips members with practical skills that will prepare them for future successes. To create interest for Science and Engineering, Team 2337 has established a network of partnerships between our members, the community, and all of FIRST?s programs. By forming these vital connections, the EngiNERDs have succeed in our ultimate goal of inspiring students into science, technology, engineering, and math-related fields.
The EngiNERDs' Chairman's Team made a video to show everyone what Team 2337 is all about. Please take a couple moments to watch the video. |
